Members of the Society for Creative Anachronism follow different paths exploring activities and skills that lead to their own personalized adventure of discovering the past . Check out some of the ways that our members participate in the SCA and explore their own historic adventure


Quite often when people think about the Society for Creative Anachronism, they think of the combat recreation. Many of our members enjoy the action, the thrill, the adventure and the camaraderie that comes from participating in this modern sport versions of medieval activities. Come and discover the nine different marshal activities that members of the Kingdom of Calontir participate in.


Almost every member of the Society for Creative Anachronism participates in some form of the Arts and Sciences. These activities are where our members recreate the past. From the food to the music, from the clothing to the tools, from the art to the everyday objects, our members enjoy learning about the past at a more meaningful level by recreating parts of the past. Members of the Society for Creative Anachronism enjoy many activities. harder aspect of our hobby to describe to you is that of the social aspect. At its core the SCA is a social organization where people with similar interests come together and explore these activities but also forge long-lasting friendships. Let’s explore the social dimension of the SCA.


Different historic recreation organizations interact in different ways with history. Some are more into the fantasy element of magic and fairies. Others hold very high standards for those who participate. The SCA has always been an unusual mix of letting people explore history at their own pace while helping everyone to grow and advance in their understanding.
